Teddy, warmed over
We just got an update a few minutes ago. Teddy is getting warmed up right now. When they put you on a heart-lung bypass, they have to take your temperature down. Before you come off, they have to warm you back up. After that, they'll clean him up and look for bleeding areas. Then, they'll take him off the bypass, and echo his heart. That lets them check their work and be sure that the space-age valve the built for him works well. They'll echo his heart and check the functionality of the valve, and close him up. No open chest this time. They'll probably echo him again and then it's up to the ICU to transition to there. Last time, that's when we had some trouble with him. He had a moment where his heart rate dropped dangerously low. This time, we're hoping for smooth sailing back to his room, and that he'll have a quiet afternoon of healing rest. And then, we can have a quiet afternoon of rest.
