Suregery Update part 2

The surgery is going, in the words of the nurse who called in with the update, "perfectly." They've closed the hole in the bottom of his heart. They've repaired the valve with 4 leaves to his aorta. Repairing is always better than replacing, because it should be more or less permanent. They are about to start to run the pulmonary conduit right now. Currently they expect that they may be done as early as between 1 and 1:30. In this case, the operation going this quickly is good, because it means that they aren't hitting surprises or anything like that.
