Infection sucks

So, the current issue that Teddy has is that he has an infection in his lungs. They think that's what caused the problems that he had yesterday that put him back on the respirator. Ironically, the respirator is probably how he got the infection. Of course he needed it after the operation, but that's one of the risks of being intubated. So, they've got him back on the ventilator. They're treating the infection and aggressively pulling the secretions that his body is producing as a result of the infection out of his lungs. His chest x-ray looked good, so there's no damage to his lungs. His echo looked good, his heart functionality is good. There's a little bit of leaking at the aortic valve. That's the valve that was part of the original truncus problem, and has 4 leaves, rather than 3. It looks better than it did yesterday, though, with less leaking. So, for now, the plan is to keep ahead of the infection (which is only in his lungs, not his blood or anything else right now), to keep pulling the goo that his body is producing out of his lungs, and to keep an eye on that valve.

The too long, didn't read takeaway is this: he had a setback from an infection yesterday. They're on it, and he's back on the right course.
