He's asleep...

Teddy is here, and he's been checked in and is now back in the OR, asleep. Amy and I have done all the administrative stuff that we needed to. We checked in, we got the EASE app set up so we can get text messages from surgery, we've gotten some coffee and now we're at the point where we just... sit. Sitting and waiting is a skill. You have to find ways to cope with the silence and with just sitting there, without thinking about things, and just relaxing. It's like meditation, in a way. You have to find a way to still the maddening thoughts in your mind and find a way to escape from that and just be. So that's what we're trying to do now.

Teddy is fine. He said that "It's not fair! I shouldn't have to be here!" And he's not wrong. It's not fair. He shouldn't have to be here. It's the strongest point he's raised in opposition to this whole thing. But now he's in the easy part, for him. He gets to sleep and when he wakes up, he'll have new bits in his heart helping him to slowly start to feel better. And we'll just sit. And wait. And be here.
