It can be put off no longer
Teddy is now scheduled for aortic valve replacement on Monday, November 29. They'll be replacing his valve, but we don't know with what. It might be mechanical. It might be pig or cow. It might be something else. His current valve is made of something called CorMatrix, which is a fancy space-age material that requires the surgeon to build it. He'll be in the hospital that week, and then the next week he'll be recuperating at home. We have a call scheduled with the surgeon, Dr. Galantowicz, who's been his surgeon his whole life and who is awesome. We'll have more answers to questions then.
The cherry on this sundae is that they're finally getting Covid vaccines for kids likely next week, and he still won't be able to get one until after surgery.
