Moving toward home
We've moved in the hospital. We're now in the step down, which is cool, because it means that pretty much anyone can still come and see him, if they have the code to do so. Teddy is doing pretty well. There was a bit of a concern for a while because he was so very sleepy all the time. It turns out that three weeks of narcotics to control pain can, apparently, leave you very sleepy when they go to start weaning you off of them. On top of that, one of the symptoms of withdraw in babies is sleeping.
The reason that Teddy sleeping the days away was an issue was feeding. The limiting factor on when we get to go home is how well the little guy does eating. So they're trying to get him to eat. Monday and Tuesday were slow. Monday, in particular, we fed a bit, but spent most of the day sleeping. Tuesday was better, and we were up to around 30-40 ml per feed, which is getting there. Today, he's had between 50 and 60 ml per feed. 60 is the target, so if we can keep on that, then that would be great. If he can't, then there's a chance that he'll have to have what's called a "g tube" put in, which is a way to put food directly into his stomach, which we can take him home with. But I'd rather not do that. So, we're trying to get him to eat normally from now until next Monday, when they'll make their decision on that. But, in the mean time, here's some pictures of him.

It was marvelous to interact with Teddy last night. He was so intently looking at everythijg. He is looking great!
