Homecoming

We brought Teddy home last night. It was almost anticlimactic leaving Children's. We left in the afternoon on a Saturday, so some of the people who'd been watching him most often weren't there. However, it was good to go home. We're still occasionally a little bit freaked out, really. And it's a big change for him. It's a whole new world here. He's gone from constant, 24 hour care with people bustling around all the time in a somewhat noisy hospital room, to a quiet room, were the only people bustling around him are me and Amy. So he's getting adjusted just like we are.

Right now, Amy's getting some well deserved sleep. She ruled last night, and let me sleep through when he woke up at 3. Which meant I let her sleep in when he woke up at 6, but she only slept another couple hours after that. She's pretty exhausted. I'm just fairly tired, so I've got the day shift at the moment. The cat's are puzzled. They hear him, and they occasionally see him, but we're keeping them out of his room. Which only makes them want in there more, when Teddy's not crying that is. So now we're trying to get him adjusted to a better schedule for home life, one where he's not waking up every 90 minutes or so, and to get him used to being on his own for a bit of time.
