Update: Like Phileas Fogg, Ballooning We Will Go
After conferring between the surgeons and the cath lab and the cardiologists, the decision is that we will try to do a balloon valvuloplasty again. The reason is that this low risk. The bad case for this is that it doesn't help enough and they have to do surgery anyway. So that's the plan. On April 12, 2021, we'll have another trip to the cath lab. If it is like last time, it should be a fairly quick operation, followed by an echo a month or two until we reach this point again. The good news is that this is a very low risk procedure and it has a quick recovery time. Teddy should be out of the hospital next Tuesday, and home that evening.
Side note: In Around the World in Eighty Days, the novel, Fogg never actually travels by balloon. It is only in the movie with David Niven that this happens, and as such, it is thanks to Hollywood that this is the enduring image from the story. This has been your tired trivia minute with Aaron.
