Preparations
So we made a list of all that we had to do around the house to prepare for Ted*. Turns out that there's quite a bit to do. The room we want to put him in has been a spare room for a while, which is to say, the room where we put stuff that's been in the way elsewhere. So we're starting to work on that. I also put up a handrail on our stairway. Hey, Dad, all those times taking it down and putting it up again at your place to help paint have finally paid off! After we get the light, easy stuff out of there, I need to take an old dresser out, and down to the laundry room to serve as a place to organize stuff down there. And the bed that's in there has to go. And the carpet that's a bit ruined needs to be pulled up.** And, well, you get the idea. There's a bunch of stuff to do, and limited time in which to do it, but we're trying to plow through it. While I do the heavy lifting (literally), Amy's working on crocheting a blanket, and is making some pretty impressive progress, and she's clearing her clothes out of there.
* We're calling him Ted at the moment to try it on. The name isn't set in stone just yet.
** Why did so many people put carpet over lovely hardwood?
