This morning, they took the breathing tube out. They also stopped his narcotic drips completely (the pain killers and sedatives) and now he's sort of decided that he's ready to go, even if they aren't ready to let him. Which is a good problem for us to have. His lungs are a bit congested but that's to be expected after the time on the ventilator and the bypass. So he's moving along. We got here this morning right after they fed him some clear Pedialyte and he calmed down and went to sleep. The best part, for me, is that he
looks like himself again. His facial expression as he's sleeping is the same expression that I see at home when he's asleep.
